๐Ÿ‘€ Are We Still Following Outdated Privacy Laws?

Back in 2009, the EU Cookie Law was introduced with good intentions but missed the mark badly.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

As someone who values privacy deeply, I decided never to implement those annoying cookie consent pop-ups on my websites.

They didn’t solve the problemโ€” they just irritated visitors and complicated the user experience.

Yet, companies scrambled to comply, terrified of potential fines of up to 4% of their revenue.

This fear-driven compliance always seemed overblown to me.

Look at Google, Apple, and Microsoft; fines were announced, but where are the big courtroom battles and the actual payments?

It’s 2024. Isn’t it time the EU re-evaluated this ineffective law?
