Black Friday: The Old Gamer’s Dilemma

Ah, Black Friday. A sacred holiday for gamers like me—where we stock up on heavily discounted games we’ll never have time to play.

Once upon a time, I’d dive into epic RPGs, spending countless hours immersed in sprawling worlds, complex narratives, and character progression. Those were the glory days of marathon gaming sessions.

Now? Life looks a little different at the age of 47. Between work, family with children, not much time is left for gaming.

Long RPGs have been replaced by quick bursts of casual games. A round of Vampire Survivors or Balatro fits into my schedule better than a 100-hour epic.

Yet, here I am, Black Friday deals in hand, buying more games to add to my ever-growing backlog.

Why? Because some part of me still believes that someday I’ll have the time to play them all.

Fellow gamers, are you hoarding Black Friday deals too? What’s the one game you’ve bought but never touched?

Let’s laugh (or cry) about our backlogs together! 🎮
