The Taplio invoice landed. €50/month.
I actually looked at it this time. Thought about the AI content features I had never touched, the engagement pods I do not use, the DM automation I had disabled. Then I thought about what I actually use it for: scheduling and analytics.
Cancelled.
Replacing the scheduler took an hour. Typefully handles it well, costs less, does the job without extras nobody asked for.
The analytics were a different problem. I looked at Shield. Similar price to what I just cancelled. At that point you are not solving anything. You are just rotating subscriptions.
Then I remembered: LinkedIn gives you the raw data for free. Two xlsx exports. 365 days. Follower growth, impressions, top posts, demographics. All of it.
I dropped the files into a Cowork session with Claude. Gave it a brief. The first working dashboard came out of that session.
I spent one afternoon building something that fits exactly how I think about my own LinkedIn data. Total monthly cost: €0.
The subscription was not the problem. Not knowing the data was already mine. That was the real problem.
