This one Edge feature boosts my speed. And it’s off by default.

I’ve been a mouse gesture nerd since the early Opera days.

Back then, Opera invented all the cool stuff:

  • Speed Dail on new page? Opera.
  • Pop-up blocker? Opera.
  • Build-in ad blocker (native!)? Opera.
  • Incognito mode? Opera.
  • Tabs? Opera.
  • Vertical tabs? Opera.
  • Tab grouping? Opera.
  • Mouse gestures? Yup, Opera again.

At a certain time, I switched to other browsers. Mouse gestures? Not native. I had to use gesture plugins.

Then I found out… Edge has them built in! Mouse gestures are finally native again

Mouse gestures are my productivity cheat code. Hold right-click then swipe: – Right → go back – Down then right → close tab – Left then up → reopen closed tab Done. Faster than a short-cut.

BUT… it’s off by default. Enable it here: Settings > Appearance > Browser behavior and features

Why is this not more known?

Why is this not ON by default? Ok, I understand that one, it can be confusing if you don’t know what is happening.

Are you a gesture fan too? Or are you a proud short-cut keyboard warrior?
