Finally, a built-in way to edit the command bar in Dynamics 365!

Remember when Microsoft promised we wouldn’t need Ribbon Workbench anymore? They called it the modern command designer with Power Fx.

Announced July 2021. Went GA June 2022. Fast-forward to 2025… and it’s still half-baked…

You can add new buttons (yay!). But touch an existing one? Nope. Promised “coming soon” … Four years ago.

The command bar is core to building apps. Yet we still don’t have a proper way to edit it.

At this point, Half-Life 3 might be released first.

Sure, Ribbon Workbench still saves the day. You can tell the UI was built by a developer, it can do everything, but even other developers need a manual and courage to use it. It’s like opening Notepad text file with Visual Studio Enterprise

We deserve better tooling for something this fundamental.

Agree or am I just cranky before coffee? ☕
