Should you be worrying about the layoffs in IT?

Big IT compies are starting to lay off software engineers. Is this the start of major layoffs in the whole industry?

Personally, I don’t think so.

Why?

I think big tech companies were practicing fake growth to make investors happy.

Expending employees gave the impression that the company is growing. This inflated dev teams.

A lot of bll sht jobs were created.

Twitter showed the way. It fired 4/5 of their employees. Investors are starting to notice.

Then a new law became active: Section 174. Developer salaries are not fully deductible anymore.

I think a combination of these two factors caused the current layoffs.

So, if you don’t have a bll shit job, I don’t think you need to worry.
