Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

I thought that SOP’s would be useless for a solo entrepreneur.

A SOP is a set of detailed step-by-step instructions that describe how to carry out any given process.

How wrong I was. They are enormously powerful, even for solo-ists.

The direct benefit is that you don’t need to think about all the steps you need to take and in which order (no more creative energy wasted).

Meetings will go faster and much smoother, I don’t need to think about the order or about resources that I need during the meeting.

The indirect benefit is that it shows you clearly what steps you take, which will trigger you to try to optimize your work.

I have removed steps, automated steps, or found better tools to execute the steps.

I have a setup procedure to install my product with customers that went from 2 hours to max 1/2 hour.

Try them!
