AI isn’t asking questions. It’s just making assumptions.

In consulting or sales, you learn fast:

  • What customers want isn’t always what solves their problem.
  • They ask for solutions they know based on limited knowledge.

Experienced consultants do something else:

  • They ask more questions.
  • They build a clear picture of the problem.
  • Only then do they propose a solution.

Now look at AI. To get good results, you need great prompts.

But expecting users to craft those? That’s like asking a customer to diagnose themselves.

A consultant can craft a great prompt—because they already understand the problem.

So, for me, AI is still a tool for experts.

The next step for AI is to do a discovery phase—a way to gather more context and understand the problem better.

When AI can master this, it will become a tool for non-experts.
